It is without doubt the quality of the products and related services provided by Belmet that has enhanced the company’s reputation in the market place.

The goal of Belmet is to provide customers with the highest quality products, delivered on-time and at competitive prices. In support of this Quality Policy, Belmet has established an Integrated Management System as the governing documented requirements and fundamental system characteristics.

The Managing Director is responsible for ensuring the Quality Policy is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels of the Company.

The above Quality Policy describes Belmet’s overall intentions and directions with regards to quality.

Occupational Health & Safety Policy

At Belmet, we are committed to a system of health and safety management, based on a common understanding of risks and how to control them. We recognise that health and safety is a management responsibility of equal importance to Belmet’s work and that effective control of health and safety is achieved through co-operative effort, at all levels within the organisation. We want to prevent accidents and illness by making sure that health and safety considerations are at the heart of everything we do. In complying with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Belmet will, amongst other things:

  • Maintain all places of work under our control in a condition that is safe and without risk to health, this will include the provision and maintenance of adequate means of access to and exit from the premises;
  • Provide and maintain a working environment for our employees that is safe and without risk to health – adequate facilities and arrangements for securing the welfare of employees will be provided;
  • Provide information, instruction, supervision and training, as is necessary, to ensure the health and safety at work of our employees;
  • Provide, operate and maintain buildings, plant, machinery, equipment and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health;
  • Make arrangements for ensuring the safety and absence of risk to health in connection with the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances for use at work;
  • Provide protective clothing and safety equipment, as is necessary, to enable staff to undertake their duties safely;
    Ensure that our employees at work on other companies’ premises, as part of their normal work duties, are trained in the recognition of likely risks which they may encounter;
  • Continuously improve our performance in the field of health and safety, through the setting of clear and achievable goals.

These duties will be performed by Belmet; so far as is reasonably practicable, and the success of this policy relies on everyone being actively involved. We all have a valuable role to play in showing that good health and safety at work is good business.

This statement is a formal and unique declaration that we will devote sufficient effort and resource to the organisation, so that we can continue to build on the ideals and principles that have distinguished Belmet as a leading fabricator in the Western Cape.
